Idaho National Laboratory Foundation Welcomes John De Michele as Director of Development

Idaho Falls, ID  – The Idaho National Laboratory Foundation (INLF) is thrilled to announce the appointment of John De Michele as the new Director of Development. With extensive experience in nonprofit management and fundraising, John will be instrumental in advancing the Foundation’s mission to support energy research and development at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL).

“We are excited to welcome John to our team,” said Linda Montgomery, President of the Idaho National Laboratory Foundation. “His expertise in all areas of development and commitment to community engagement align perfectly with our mission to advance the lab’s energy research and encourage STEM education. We look forward to the impactful contributions he will make in fostering collaboration and expanding our outreach efforts.”

In his new role, John will lead fundraising efforts to support INL's cutting-edge research and development programs, vital for maintaining the United States' leadership in the energy industry. He will also focus on enhancing technology incubation efforts, aimed at improving the testing and transfer of innovative technologies to the market. Additionally, John will oversee initiatives that promote STEM education and workforce development, which are critical for inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers.

With over 40 years of fundraising experience, John has had the privilege of working with leading institutions across the country, including Tufts University in Boston, Northwestern University Hospital Foundation in Chicago, and National Jewish Respiratory Health Center in Denver. His involvement spans gifts ranging from $1 million to $120 million. Throughout his career, John has collaborated with influential business and philanthropic leaders and has learned that successful organizations are built on strong leadership and comprehensive planning. “I am proud to be part of the INL Foundation, as it plays a significant role in shaping the future of our country through energy innovation,” John stated.
